The college offers EMT-Basic certificate that is good for one (1) semester with seven (7) credit hours. Students may opt to continue it by enrolling in a Paramedic program. The Paramedic course is composed of three (3) semesters or 36 credit hours that include a total of 500 hours of clinical externship in various departments of the hospital and emergency responses. The Paramedic Anatomy and Physiology is a prerequisite for this course. Students can still achieve further education at CST even after successfully passing the Paramedic certification because the college offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in EMT-Paramedic. You may choose between two majors, which are Management and Science. Graduates of Management major will help them have administrative or supervisory position in the EMS field. Science major students on the other hand are being prepared for EMS related education and researches, or a position in the emergency department of a hospital.
Effective this Fall of 2014, the tuition rate for one (1) credit hour for in-state students is $148.64. This means the 36 credit hours Paramedic program will cost $5351.04 for instate students. 1 credit hour rate for out-of-state students will be $297.28 making the 36 credit hours cost $10,702.08. Other fees that you have to consider are the lab fee at $30/contact hour, $15 one-time admission fee, $9/semester registration fee, $37.50/semester technology fee, and $75/semester parking fee.

Another option for EMT training in Cincinnati Ohio is taught at Great Oaks Career Campuses. Great Oaks has different campuses but EMT is offered in Scarlet Oaks/Public Safety Services. EMTs need a refresher to stay up to date on new information and developments in the field of emergency health care. The refresher courses are also necessary to maintain your license with the state. The EMT-Basic refresher course has $325 tuition and the registration will close on October 22, 2014 as the classes will start on November 5, 2014 and will end on December 10, 2014. They have the EMT-Basic that is a six credit program and the EMT-Paramedic that is a 45 credit program. Not all the students are qualified to enroll in the Paramedic course because you need to have an EMT-Basic certification before you can get your hands on the Paramedic program. This one-year program has an estimated total cost of $9,950. $9,000 goes to tuition and other fees, $900 for books and $50 for graduation fee. They also offer an Associate Degree on EMS. It’s a two-year program that gives the essential foundation needed by Paramedics to have an edge on the administrative or supervisory position.
