Some schools offer all three levels of EMT training. Some only offer one. All these EMT programs will allow you to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians examination. You can get EMT training in Las Vegas through the EMS Training Center of Southern Nevada. This program offer both EMT-Basic as well as Advanced EMT (AEMT). The EMT-Basic class takes about 6 months to complete. The cost of the tuition is $1,350. That cost includes some supplies, the CPR training and a shirt. The cost of the textbook is extra. This class meets once a week on Monday from 9:30AM to 5:30PM. You must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma/ GED. A negative TB test is required in addition to have all vaccinations current. You will also be required to have a drug test and background check completed.
The AEMT class is a total of 16 weeks long. It costs about $1,280 for the tuition. You must already have an EMT-Basic certification for this class. The rest of the requirements are similar to the EMT-Basic class.

There is another place to get EMT training in Las Vegas through LVAPEC. They offer EMT-Basic, EMT Advanced and EMT Paramedic classes. The EMT-Basic class costs about $1,365 for tuition. It is taught every Wednesday and Friday from 9AM to 6PM. Classes generally are two months long. You must apply to the program and have a high school diploma or GED. The advanced EMT class is $1,200. It requires an existing EMT Basic certification and CPR card. The Advanced emergency medical technician class is about four months long.

You can also get EMT training in Las Vegas through the College of Southern Nevada. The EMT Basic class is 9 units long. The cost of the EMT Basic class is about $1,935 for tuition, textbooks and supplies. This program includes three courses. The first is the classroom instruction. The next is the training portion and the last is the clinical. Students must have all vaccinations up to date. You will also be required to take a drug screening and do a background check.
There is also an Advanced emergency medical technician class. It costs about $1,955 including the supplies, books and tuition. The AEMT course is a total of 8 units. It also includes classroom, lab and clinical sections.
